An authentic 1909 ‘Palace of the Fan’ Cincinnati Reds ballpark postcard. Postmarked 1909 on the backside, this antique postcard was used. The front of the postcard presents an image of this early ballpark which was located at Findley Street and Western Avenue. Designed in a neo-classic design, the ballpark had an extravagant Facade. Home of the Cincinnati Reds from 1902-1911, the last game was played against the Chicago Cubs. The caption at the top of the postcard reads ‘12,000 People At The Ball Park, Cincinnati, O.’ The backside is stamped ’Norwood Souvenir Co., Cincinnati, O.
Condition
Good-Fair with edge and surface wear. Paper loss on the right-hand side. Some discoloration. Wear consistent with age.
