A hand-knotted Persian Caucasian wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of cranberry, taupe, ivory, emerald, indigo, clementine, powder blue, and black. The notched cranberry colored field features a repeated pattern of a stemmed rosette motif with bold spandrels and partial medallions to the notches. Framing the field is a main star patterned border with a pair of chained arrow guard borders, along with black and white checked minor borders. Finishing the rug are overcast selvedges and a natural warp fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
