A hand-knotted Persian Kurdish Bijar wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of cranberry, indigo, ivory, rose, wine, clementine, charcoal, and sand. The cranberry colored lozenged field features a large central medallion along with a mina khani pattern, bordered with ivory spandrels with geometric floral motifs. Framing the field is a main unresolved modified medallion border, with a pair of S patterned guard borders. Finishing the rug are overcast selvedges and a natural warp fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
