A hand-knotted Persian Kashan area rug. This carpet is hand-knotted in a palette of crimson,midnight blue, olive green,sky blue, gray, pale rose, ocher and ivory. It features a scalloped medallion on a red field patterned with curvilinear vines and Shah Abbasi palmettes. The main border features a herati pattern and it is framed by compound guard borders in pale blue and ivory. It has short fringe to either end and it is not marked.
