A vintage hand-knotted Persian Kurdish Bijar wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of madder red, indigo, ochre, wine, clementine, olive, charcoal, and ivory. The lozenged field begins with a large medallion and also features geometric motifs and sawtooth borders, as well as a repeated mina khani pattern. Framing the field is a main boteh serabend border and a carnation meander guard border. Finishing the rug are overcast selvedges and a natural warp fringe to the ends. Labeled.
