PRIORITY-Semi-Antique Hand-Knotted Northwest Persian Tribal Accent Rug
Item Details
A semi-antique northwest Persian tribal accent rug. This wool rug is hand-knotted in an abrashed palette of black, goldenrod, mauve, crimson, gray, and ivory. It begins with an off-center diamond medallion with floating pendants above and below. The medallion is grounded in goldenrod yellow and seeded with a pink star at the center, amid tree of life and flowerhead motifs. Floating on an abrashed, open black field, the medallion has serrated edges and an arrow at each corner. Framing the field are five borders, including a colorful main border featuring flowerheads and stylized split oak leaves, two meandering-carnation minor borders over mauve, and reciprocal sawtooth guard borders in crimson and gray. Selvedges are double overcast, the rug finishing at each end with wool and goat hair warp fringe in black and brown. Unlabeled.
