A hand-knotted Persian Heriz wool area rug. This rug features a palette of burgundy, ivory, crimson, indigo, emerald, ochre, and black; beginning with a large central medallion on a lozenged field, displaying geometric, and leaf motifs. The field also displays chained boteh patterns, leaf, and sawtooth patterns, along with other geometric motifs. The over populated field is framed in a main stylized samovar border and a pair of geometric guard borders. The rug is finished with overcast selvedges and a natural warp fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
