A signed serigraph titled MD-80 by Helmut Barnett (born 1946). This minimalist composition is divided in to four square quadrants, with Each quadrant depicting a detail of an MD-80 airplane in gold, black, and red silhouette. The work is titled and signed in graphite in the lower margin. It is presented under glass, mounted to an off white backing in a black wooden frame. There are two hanging loops mounted to the sides of the verso.

German born Helmut Barnett moved to the United states as a child, living in Abilene Kansas, Chicago Illinois, and spending four years in the Air Force before settling in Austin Texas. Barnett graduated with a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Texas in 1974 and has since been producing paintings, drawings, and sculptures from his converted 100 year old studio in downtown Austin. Barnett’s body of work spans from Abstract Expressionistic geometric compositions to Surrealistic landscapes and Dadaist juxtapositions. His work has been shown in the David Dike Fine Art Gallery in Dallas TX, the Corbett vs. Dempsey Gallery in Chicago IL, the Miller Gallery in Cincinnati OH, the Wally Workman Gallery in Austin TX, and the Albuquerque Museum in Albuquerque NM, among others.
