A vintage watercolor painting on paper depicting a cellist by Mary Shaw, executed August 8, 1951. Depicted is a passionate cellist feverishly playing her instrument. She is identified in the lower right as, ‘Jean Werner.’ The signature appears above the cellist’ name with the date below. The work remains unmounted and unframed.

Shaw was a member of the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh.

- soiling to the paper present throughout.
