A pre-war watercolor painting on paper titled Boats at the Naval Armory by Dick Bowman, executed in 1940. Large steamships line the dock in the distance with two smaller sailboats in the foreground and to the right. The style and subject matter suggest that Bowman was a self-taught artist and perhaps naval personnel. Signed, titled and dated to the lower right. The work remains unmounted and unframed.
