Alexander Redein Signed Original Oil Painting on Paper of an Interior Scene
Item Details
An original vintage oil painting on paper by well-listed American Modernist painter Alexander Redein (New York, 1912 – 1990). The painting depicts an expressive interior space painted in loose brushwork with layered texture and color accented with thin, dark outlines. A tall vase of flowers sits on a table in the foreground, and a fireplace and open window line a far wall at the back of the scene. The painting is signed in white to the lower right. It is presented without matting or framing, awaiting your choice of presentation.
Redein studied at the Yale School of Fine Art and The Art Students League. He exhibited extensively during his lifetime, and now has works housed in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the Whitney Museum of Art, the Brooklyn Museum of Art, and many more.
Condition
- paper is very yellowed and has light creasing/ripping to edges. A very large crease marks the left edge of the piece from top to bottom, about 6" from the painting’s left edge.
