Hand-painted Nippon Porcelain Platter and Compote

Item Details

A pair of hand-painted Nippon porcelain serveware including a platter and a compote. The compote features a yellow floral pattern on a brushed brown and lavender field to the bowl, a thick pedestal base. and gilding to the white porcelain form. The platter features an oval form with pierced angled handles and a gilt floral pattern to the cream verge. The platter is marked with the ‘Rising Sun’ Nippon mark while the compote has the ‘M in Wreath’ mark indicating importation by the Morimura Brothers.
