1891 Limited Edition "November Boughs" by Walt Whitman

A first edition hardcover copy of Walt Whitman’s poetry collection November Boughs. Published by David McKay of Philadelphia, dated 1888. This tall edition in a green cloth hardcover is believed to be from a limited edition of 400 copies published in 1891, printed for friends of Whitman rather than general market distribution. Inscribed to the front flyleaf ‘To Mary & Joseph Tels, February Eighteen Hundred Ninety-Five, Traubel’, believed to be Horace Traubel, the literary executor and friend of Whitman, although the signature has not been professionally authenticated.
