Vintage Herend "Rothschild Bird" Porcelain Warming Dish and Candlestick
Item Details
A vintage Herend porcelain warming dish and candlestick in the Rothschild Bird pattern. Each piece is decorated with colorful songbirds and insects, trimmed with gilt bands along the edge. The warming dish features an embossed basketweave band and a molded lemon finial. The reservoir of the platter is meant to be filled with hot water, then topped with the lid to keep food warm. The candlestick bears the blue underglaze mark to the base indicating a production date c. 1915-1930.
Condition
- minor marks and surface scuffs consistent with gentle use; small areas of discoloration to base of candlestick; warming dish is missing small lid used to plug reservoir.
