A mixed media portrait of an older man. This work, which uses pastels with watercolor and gouache on paper, depicts man dressed in a stiff collar, his white hair and beard carefully groomed. The figure is rendered in delicate detail over a flat gray ground. The portrait is presented, unsigned, under glass in an oval gold tone frame with a wire for hanging. There is a label from D.B. Butler & Co. adhered to the verso of the frame.

Condition

- accretion and debris under glass; heavy wear and chipping to frame and verso.
