A collection of Roy Shehorn hand-carved wooden bird figurines. The five mid-century works in this group feature various realistically painted and carved birds on pieces of wood. This vintage collection includes a quail and a road-runner. The road-runner is marked with woodburning to the wood base ‘Road-Runner -The Desert Clown – Hand Carved by Shehorn, of Arizona’. The quail is marked to the base ’Gambel’s Quail – Knight of the Desert – Hand Carved and Painted by R. T. Shehorn – Wickenburg, Arizona’.
