Buffalo Pottery "John Paul Jones" Pitcher

A ceramic pitcher depicting John Paul Jones. This piece features two portraits of American naval hero John Paul Jones, along with a vignette of his flagship the Bon Homme Richard exchanging fire with the British frigate Serapis during the Battle of Flamborough Head in 1779. An additional vignette of Jones in a landing boat against his fleet rings the top of the pitcher, with his name printed to the interior of the spout. The pitcher is marked ‘Buffalo Pottery, 1907’ to the underside, along with the separate number 1433.
