A set of two Indo-Persian gouache paintings on paper, both with ink outlines and gone tone embellishments resembling gold leaf. Featured is a genre scene depicting figures reclining in an opulent setting with patterned rugs and a backdrop of flying birds and flowering trees. Also featured is a similar work depicting figures conversing next to a stream in an outdoor setting, as a female figure looks on from a nearby window. The unsigned paintings are presented without glass in matching silver tone wooden frames fitted with hanging wire to the verso.
Condition
- discoloration, scratching, surface wear and craquelure to paintings, with scattered small areas of media loss throughout; minor scratches and edge wear to frames.
