1940s Pony Cart Pedal Car Riding Toy
Item Details
A circa 1940s child’s pony cart pedal car toy. With no manufacturer identified, this vintage toy is constructed of cast iron with a molded durable tin material that shapes this animal. The pony has been re-painted white with a brown saddle. The original metal handle steering rod is still present. Re-painted in a deep colored red, the round curved seat is attached to the two back cast iron wheels. For securing a child in the seat, there are two black straps that appear not original to the toy. The leather reins also seem to be replacements for this mid-century toy. Please note, the toy’s steering mechanism goes to the right and left when tested.

Condition
The toy has been repainted. The attached metal mechanism that connects the cart to the pony has been repainted and does move to the right and left.
The colors are bold and vivid. Signs of rusting and pitting that have been painted over.

The measurements reflect the size of the pedal car.
