A vintage Saxon Porcelain Dresden compote. This piece boasts a pierced bowl with molded, scalloped edges. It rests on a bulbous stem pierced detail that narrows towards the footed base, each accented with pierced panels. In rococo revival style, the compote is decorated with molded, multi-colored flowers and painted bouquets. It is finished with delicate gilt swirls and scrolls. The piece bears the blue ‘SP Dresden’ mark indicating production after 1901 at the Saxonian Porcelain Factory Dresden, founded in 1872 by Carl Thieme in Potschappel.
