A lithograph on paper titled Romeo and Juliet designed by celebrated artist Marc Chagall (1887-1985). Originally part of a design Chagall created for the Paris Opera House, this print depicts an image of Romeo and Juliet floating over a city. The print is marked ‘Paris l’Opera le plafond de Chagall (détail)’ in-plate to the upper left margin. The print reads ‘Marc Chagall, 1974’ in pencil to the lower right margin. It is presented behind glass in a black aluminum frame, ready to hang. Affixed to the verso is a label from Harcourts Gallery.
