An original oil painting on canvas of a 19th Century street scene by Rolen. This painting depicts a horse drawn cart crossing a bustling intersection of a cheery Edwardian city. A woman with hat and shawl with a young boy standing in the foreground, facing the action with their backs to the viewer. The work is signed in the lower right of the canvas ‘Rolen’. It is presented in a gold tone wood frame with a stylized egg and dart motif and a white linen liner. There is a vertically oriented hanging wire mounted to the verso.
