An oil painting on canvas of a still life by listed California artist Gertrude L. Remy (1906-1999). This work is rendered with a bright palette and careful, painterly brushmarks, depicting a console dish filled with red and yellow flowers and a copper pitcher standing together before a softly-draping cloth. This work is signed in red paint to its lower right corner and is presented in a molded frame with a hanging wire to its verso.

Condition

- poor; large rip to canvas that has been repaired with the use of tape to its verso; discoloration and foxing to verso of canvas; accretion to surface of artwork; heavy chipping and wear to frame and verso, particularly to corners.
