A Persian Tabriz carpet runner. This wool rug is hand-knotted in a palette of ivory, taupe, shades of pink, and shades of green. It features a crisply rendered, ornate floral design over an ivory field and ivory borders. The design begins with two round medallions filled with and surrounded by depictions of carnations, roses, hibiscus, wildflowers, lancet leaves, and other foliage, elements that continue in the main border. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with thick, fine ivory warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
