A Japanese woodblock print on paper by Urushibara Mokuchū (漆原木虫, 1888-1953), also known as Yoshijirō. This piece features a stylized depiction of a white horse rearing up on its hind legs. The piece is signed by hand “Yoshijirō” in graphite to the lower right and stamped with the artist’s red “Mokuchū” (木虫) seal to the upper right. It is presented behind a gray mat behind glass in a black wooden frame with a hanging wire is present to the verso.
Condition
- image paper is discolored; matte is discolored around the outside edges; nicks and scratches to the frame.
