A Fred Hutchinson 1949 Bowman baseball card. This is Fred’s rookie card. He’s shown as a Detriot Tiger. It’s card #196. Fred became a beloved manager of the Cincinnati Reds from 1959-1964, he succumbed to cancer in 1964. He was one of the most respected managers in Major League baseball history. It was noted that the players not only liked him but they respected him. Major League baseball awards the Hutch Award, named after Fred, to the player that ‘best exemplifies the fighting spirit and competitive desire’.

Condition

- off center, rough left edge; small spider creases on the left side going into his shoulder, on the front only, they don’t permeate to the back ; corners touched
