An original gouache painting on paper of a nesting partridge by well-listed American artist Miriam H. Beerman (New Jersey/Rhode Island; born 1923). This piece is rendered with shades of blackish brown and depicts the game bird with its wings tucked back and its head nestled down in an expression of comfort. The work is signed in ink toward its lower right corner and is presented unframed.
Beerman’s works are included in the permanent collections of numerous prestigious institutions throughout the nation, including Metropolitan Museum of Art; Whitney Museum; Brooklyn Museum of Art; the Jewish Museum; and Queens Museum in New York City; the Corcoran Gallery of Art; and National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C.
