A gouache painting on paper of an emu by well-listed American artist Miriam H. Beerman (New Jersey/Rhode Island; born 1923). This piece is rendered with quick expressive marks and depicts the head and neck of an emu. The work is signed ‘M. Beerman’ toward its lower right corner and is presented unframed.
Beerman’s works are included in the permanent collections of numerous prestigious institutions throughout the nation, including Metropolitan Museum of Art; Whitney Museum; Brooklyn Museum of Art; the Jewish Museum; and Queens Museum in New York City; the Corcoran Gallery of Art; and National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C.
