Vintage Brown Leather Close Contact Saddle

Item Details

A vintage brown leather close contact English saddle in the style of classic hunt seat saddles such as the Hermés Steinkraus and the Crosby Prix De Nations. The piece features a square cantle and plain flaps with brown leather, cream tone stitching and silver tone metal hardware. The panels are foam and the piece retains one billet guard and a brass nameplate to the cantle. It is otherwise unmarked.

Condition

- leather is dry and seam splitting noted at the twist; leather worn through at the skirt by the stirrup buckle; extensive cracking to the leather on the panels. Mold noted.
