Rare Wedgwood King Christian IX of Denmark Jasperware Plate

A rare Wedgwood jasperware plate featuring King of Denmark, Christian IX in profile surrounded by swags of oak leaves and acorns. Script around the plate states, ‘Med Gud For Aere Og Ret. 1818 8 April 1898,’ which translates to, ‘With God for honors and justice.’ The reverse states, ‘Wedgwood; Expressly made by hand for Goldschmidts Magasin, Copenhagen -Denmark.’ Also present are the maker’s stamp and, ‘England,’ stamp. Wire loop to verso for hanging.

- Minor chip to lower neck portion.
