A Louis XIV style sideboard from The Biltmore Estate’s Chateau Collection. The sideboard is topped with a removable metal and wood shelving unit with elaborate scrollwork and fleur di lis in a pewter color with dull gold gilt and two curved wood shelves. The sideboard features a faux black marble top with a scalloped front edge over a corresponding case with drawers, cabinets and pilasters. The drawers have rounded, walnut veneered fronts with piping and fitted with darkened brass plated knobs over a beaded trim. The cabinet doors are rounded with burled walnut veneered, recessed panels with a beaded trim. The center cabinet doors open to shelved storage and the sides open to rounded shelves with metal galleries. The sideboard rises on ogee bracket feet.
