Vintage U.S. Army Uniform Jackets and Pants with Insignia
Item Details
A group of military uniform jackets and pants. The group includes a circa 1950 waist-length olive drab wool field jacket, with hidden button placket and flap front pleated chest pockets. The left chest pocket has a metal pin marked ‘Buffalo Soldiers – 9th – 10th Horse Cavalty’. The sleeves have Private First Class stripes, and a 10th Mountain Division embroidered patch. The jacket is lined in olive green satin, with stenciled military inventory numbers. A longer, circa 1940s tan wool service coat has sergeant’s stripes on both upper sleeves, and the left sleeve has three gold bars above the cuff. The right chest has a diamond shaped patch with an eagle in a circle. The jacket has a notched collar, with ornate brass buttons up the front, two chest flap pockets with buttons, and two flap front pockets at the bottom, both with smaller brass buttons. Not labeled inside. Included with the jackets is a pair of unlined, olive drab wool uniform pants, with belt loops and a zip front with button closure, and slash pocket on the side. There are buttons sewn on the inside of the waist band, along with a stenciled number ‘C4627’. The pants are labeled ‘Long W-33 L-33 – Stock No. 55-T-81997-140’.
