Folk Art Carved and Painted Wooden Duck

Item Details

A folk art carved wooden duck. The figure is styled after a vintage hunting decoy and features polychrome painted features in black, yellow and red. The item includes a storage compartment to the center and felt pads to the underside. No signature or maker’s mark was found.

Condition

- several large cracks throughout body and underside; areas of surface wear to wood; accretion and discoloration throughout; chipping, scratches and scuffing to painted finish; debris and scuffing to interior of compartment; white stains to front of body; item appears to be missing a lidded piece to the center.
