1795 London Sterling Silver Footed Oval Tray
Item Details
A 1795 London sterling silver oval footed tray. The tray rests on paw feet with a reeded border along the edge of the legs. In the center of the dish is an engraved foliate design surrounding a personalized engraving. The base of the dish is marked with a lion for sterling purity, a leopard wearing a crown indicating a London city mark, a U date mark from 1795, a King George III duty mark and a partially illegible maker’s mark. The dish has an approximate weight of 3.570 ozt.
Condition
some surface wear with faint markings and minimal tarnishing; the piece has a personalized engraving in the center.
