Gorham "Versailles" Sterling Silver Flatware

A sterling silver flatware set by Gorham in the Versailles pattern. This pattern was designed by F. Antoine Heller in 1888. The handle of each items features heavy scroll and leaf detailing. This set includes twelve dinner forks, twelve salad forks, twelve dessert forks, twelve soup spoons, sixteen teaspoons, twelve dessert spoons, twelve flat handle butter knives, twelve hollow handle dinner knives with stainless steel blades, a meat carving fork and knife with hollow handles and stainless steel elements, a game carving knife and fork with hollow handles and stainless steel elements, three serving forks, a serving spoon, a ladle and a sugar spoon. Some handles of flatware feature an engraved three initial ‘JKB’ monogram or a single letter ‘B’ monogram in script. Some handles have no personalization. All items are marked with maker’s mark for Gorham and ‘Sterling’. Total approximate weight is 141.775, excluding the pieces having stainless steel components.
