A handcrafted art glass orb paperweight by Paul Joseph Stankard (American, 1943 – ). The orb features a cluster of blue and green flowers, with dangling roots. The side is etched signed ‘Paul J. Stankard A60/989’.

Paul J. Stankard is considered a living day master and father of modern art glass paperweights. The internationally acclaimed artist has artwork in over 60 museums throughout the world and has been rewarded with the Masters of Medium Award James Renwick Alliance and Glass Art Society’s Lifetime Achievement Award among others. He is currently an artist-in-resident and honorary professor at Salem Community College in New Jersey.
