A Chinese oil painting on canvas of a woman. This painting depicts a slender woman dressed in a traditional salmon pink and blue kimono, raising her arm while clutching at a hand-fan behind her back. The figure is surrounded by an Impressionist rendering of various trees and foliage rendered with daubed pigment. To the lower left corner of the composition is a vertical strand of Asian characters and an artist seal. The painting is presented in a gold tone wooden frame moulded with bamboo motifs, which features a linen liner. Affixed to the verso is a D-Ring bracket.
Condition
- painting would benefit from cleaning; small craze lines across upper portion of woman; surface wear and stains to frame.
