Antique Burled Walnut Dressing Case, Circa 1860 - 1880

Item Details

An antique ladies dressing case in burled walnut veneers, circa 1860 – 1880. The stepped and hinged top, opens to a purple silk and fitted interior with black fabric and gold lace trim, above various compartments. Below, the box facade lowers to become a writing surface, retaining the original red embossed mohair velvet trimmed in gilt-embossed leather. Two small drawers are located above. The molded base retains green baize cloth to the bottom.

Condition

- there are some loose veneer; nicks and scratches present and some of the fabric inside the top drawer is torn. No key is present. Lock untested.
