Early 20th Century "Edison-Dick Mimeoscope" Tracing Table by A.B. Dick Company
Item Details
An early 20th century Edison-Dick Mimeoscope tracing table by the A.B. Dick Company. The table features a rectangular top inset with a central, frosted glass panel surrounded by wooden edge molding. The glass panel slides out to reveal a tapered, reflective well fitted with a single bulb socket. The table has a rotating, cast iron base in black paint continuing to three curved legs. It is marked ‘Edison-Dick / Mimeoscope / Made By / A.B. Dick Company, / Chicago – New York’ and it retains a guarantee label with serial number ‘3764’ and U.S. patent dates ‘Oct. 13, 1914’ and ‘Dec. 14, 1915’. There is also a decal for ‘University Of / Cincinnati’.
According to the consignor, this item belonged to Cincinnati artist Edward J. Dollriehs, whose work was inspired by his time spent in the Pacific Theater during WWII.
