The composition depicts a group of basalts in various shapes and sizes with colors ranging from dark grey to reddish-pink. The photograph is unsigned; however, the back retains a label marked ‘Omjalla Images Photography / G. Brad Lewis / …Pahoa, Hawaii…’ It is presented under glass with a bluish grey-over-white, double mat in a metal, chrome-finished frame. There is a hanging wire and a custom framing label to the verso.
