A hand-knotted Indo-Persian Heriz wool carpet runner. This rug features a palette of burgundy, black, ivory, pale yellow, camel, and gray; beginning with a row of three star medallions with floral and foliate motifs to a burgundy field, also displaying ivory spandrels. The field is framed in a samovar style border along with a meandering guard border. The rug is finished with overcast selvedges and a natural warp ivory fringe. Labeled ‘100% Wool, India, Royal Heriz’.
