Antique Chippendale Slant Top Desk

An antique Chippendale slant top desk. The desk features mixed hardwood construction with the exterior and interior of the desk being mahogany with a lacquer finish. The desk is constructed with dovetails to case and drawer supports. Supports for the slant top desk are located to the outside of the top drawer and have brass pulls. Opening the desk reveals a fitted interior with cubbies and three drawers. The desk door has a brass lock and brass hinges and the drawers have small brass pulls. Underneath the desk is four drawers with stylized brass batwing bails, escutcheons and brass locks. The drawers all feature small hand-cut dovetails, and the lacquer finish on the drawers is a hand-rolled pattern to mimics tiger maple. The desk sits on square bracketed feet.
