A German 800 silver flatware service for six by M. H. Wilkens & Son of Bremen-Hemelingen. The flatware features polished handles with a small scallop to handle end, housed in a flatware storage case with tarnish resistant lining. The forty-two piece service includes six hollow handle dinner knives, six dinner forks, six dessert/salad forks, six teaspoons, six oval bowl soup spoons, a master butter knife and spreader, a jam spoon, pierced server, sugar tongs, two ladles and four assorted serving spoons. The handles are marked ‘800’ with the maker’s logo and the German national crescent moon Reichsmark and crown mark, indicating a minimum of 800 silver purity. The flatware weighs approximately 56.790 ozt, with the exclusion of the hollow handle dinner knives that have ‘Rostfrei’ stainless steel blades.
