An authentic 1880 Railroad stock certificate. Issued by the Missouri, Kanas, and Texas Railroad Company on July 19, 1880, for ‘100’ shares. This official document is constructed of paper and was signed by the Railroad’s Secrecretary and President at the bottom. Printed in green and black on a beige colored paper, this ornate document also has an issue number ‘B9986’ marked in red letters. Portrayed in the center of this stock certificate is a black and white illustration or image of cattle grazing on a ‘Great Plains’ range with two cherubs adorning the top. Framed in a simple wood frame underneath glass, there is protective paper backing on the backside with metal wire for mounting purposes. Incorporated in 1870, the Missouri, Kansas, and Texas Railroad’s headquarters was located in Dallas. Today, it is part of the Union Pacific Railroad.
Condition
The document is flat in its frame and was not removed from its glass frame. Edge and surface wear with fold lines. The signatures were done in ink and have faded over time. Please note, the document was not removed from the frame.
