Item Details
A sterling silver tea strainer from 1946 by Sheffield maker James Dixon & Sons LTD. This piece features a wide rounded bowl with perforated and incised bottom, attached to an openwork flat handle. It is stamped to the back of the handle with the ‘JD&S’ maker’s mark alongside three hallmarks of a crown for Sheffield, a lion passant for sterling, and a ‘D’ for 1946. The approximate weight is 1.150 ozt.
