A chromolithograph on paper titled Lowering the Ensign at Sunset by William Christian Symons. The work depicts a sailor of the Royal Navy lowering a flag with the message ‘Her Majesty’s Navy’ inscribed at the top. Signed in plate on the lower right corner of the image. The title is also inscribed at the bottom of the image. Presented mounted and in frame under glass.
Condition
- scratches and wear on frame; glass could benefit from cleaning; piece is loose in frame.
