Dresden Style Porcelain Fruit Basket

Item Details

A large white porcelain Dresden style fruit basket. The four-footed bowl with basket handle is ornamented in Rococo style, with open cut-work and curved relief scolling. Sides of bowl festooned with swags of intricately detailed applied flowers. A duo of winged cherubs playing musical instruments is applied to either side of handle base. No maker’s mark identified. Underside appears to be stamped ‘519’ above ‘1’. See companion piece #17CIN598-163.

Condition

- some crazing
- applied flowers appear intact
- neck of mandolin and wrist of tambourine cherub have been repaired
