*A circa 1882 hand-colored aquatint titled A Day with the Harriers by British engraver Edward Gilbert Hester (1843 – 1903) after an origianl painting by William Henry Tuck. The central image of the print depicts a formal hunt on horseback through the countryside. A team of harrier hunting dogs is chasing a rabbit as men on horseback follow behind. The artist’s name is printed to the lower left margin, the engraver’s name to the lower right margin and the title to the lower center margin. Presented behind a green mat, under glass, in a black wood frame with a gold tone liner. A wire hanger is present to the verso.
Condition
- tear to print to lower left. Toning to print. Wear and stains to frame and liner.
