An Audobon Leipzig Edition print titled Swallow-Tailed Hawk after drawings by John James Audubon (1785-1851) and the engravings by Robert Havell (1793-1878) . This print depicts the titular hawk swooping down with a garter snake clutched in his talons. The work is titled to the lower center, along with the scientific name of the bird and type of snake depicted. The artists’ names are printed in either lower corner, and a page affixed to the verso gives for information on the subject. The print is presented behind a green mat and glass and professionally framed with archival materials in Stockholm. There is a hanging wire to the verso.
Condition
- slight accretion to glass; light wear to frame finish.
