An engraving on paper titled La Tour D’Auvergne, Premier Grenadier by listed French artist Jean Duplessis-Bertaux (1747 – 1818). This work commemorates the noble French dynasty of La Tour D’Avergne with a hand-painted color profile portrait of a family member over a battle scene at the top of the work and extensive inscription in French in the bottom half of the composition. The piece is signed in plate to the bottom right of the battle scene. It is presented behind a green mat, behind glass, in a black and gold tone wooden frame with a hanging wire to the verso.

Condition

- scratches to frame; discoloration around text; mat burn.
